Information for Industry Faculty – 09/18/2007

Course Dinner: Vendors are invited to the course dinner on Tuesday, September 25th at 6:30pm at a Chapel Hill restaurant.  All workshop participants and instructors are invited to this dinner which is generously supported by the Carolina Roadmap Executive Committee.  We hope that you will attend.   Please let Wendy or Michael know who or how many from your company will attend the dinner so we can make appropriate reservations.  Sorry, we can not pay for alcoholic drinks.

Room availability: The rooms we are using for labs. are in Taylor Hall, and are available for equipment drop off and setup: contact Michael or Wendy for access and room assignment.  There is a loading dock and ramp on the side of the building facing Mason Farm Road.  Weekend access (Sept 22-23) is available by arrangement with Michael (919-843-3268).  Rooms are available after the course for storage through Monday, Oct 1.  Please see the course calendar at http://microscopy.unc.edu/lmbr for when the lab exercises will be held.

To help us organize space for equipment, please send the following to Michael or Wendy:
   - For your large system(s) - minimum space requirements
   - Furniture wishes
   - Anything else
Please be specific.  There will be standard lab benches for the widefield microscopes.  We are using transition space, so nothing is safe to assume.

Lab Exercises: Wendy will be sending an outline (at least) of the lab exercises by email in a few days.  She would like to have a few short meetings during the week to go over the exercises with the industry instructors before the lab sessions since there will likely be details to fill in, etc.
